While I was working on the Coram brand spots, my wife gave birth to our son, five days later he went into the operating room for heart surgery. This had a profound effect on how I thought about these two videos. I thought about how I felt, having gone into the hospital thinking one thing and then realizing that a lot of things were about to change. The Why Choose Coram video is speaking to an audience in this very position. So I thought about the best way to deliver the message that it’s going to be different, but it’s going to be okay. The What to Expect video is meant to speak to a patient after they’ve chosen to move forward with Coram and give them a preview of what their life might look like.
When the SpaceOAR team was having a problem with kit clogs, they knew that a video was the answer, but they didn’t want to do the same procedural “how-to” video that’s been done before. They wanted to do something dramatic. Capitalizing on host Mark Parre’s charisma, we worked together to develop an entertaining anti-clog introduction to a very informative and accurate depiction of how to avoid one of the most common issues with any SpaceOAR procedure. Ultimately the compliance department at Boston Scientific settled on the very safe version of the video, but personally, I will always love the look on Ben’s face when Mark slaps the clogs out of his hand.
When you win the award for Best Place to Work from Business Insurance Magazine, you don’t just put out some press releases and call it a day, you get some of your best and brightest leaders together and you make a video. For this project, I worked closely with the great team over at King Fish Media.
It’s hard to overstate how often we interact with plastic on a daily basis. Toray, a plastics manufacturer, wanted to highlight the role of plastic in normal everyday scenarios. I worked with Animus studios as a Director and Producer on this lifestyle piece.
